SWEAT LODGE CEREMONY

The Sweat Lodge Ceremony is a very sacred healing and purifying ceremony. For the Warrior Down Program it is very important in helping participants with their journey of Wellbriety on the Red Road. When we go into a Sweat Lodge we must be prepared emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually. At time it will be up to the Facilitator of the Wellbriety Recovery Programs to decide when each group should attend a Sweat Lodge Ceremony.

TRADITIONAL/CULTURAL EVENTS

It is our hope to begin to form a drum group for the participants who attend the program. It is important for the Men and Women who attend the program to not only learn about staying sober but how to live sobriety. For many of these individuals going to a Pow Wow, Round Dance or cultural event sober is a new experience for them. We want to instill in them the importance of honoring the sacredness of our traditions. We plan on hosting Mini Pow Wows, Round Dances and other cultural events in the future.

RED ROAD TO WELLBRIETY STUDY GROUP

A weekly study group of the Red Road to Wellbriety book where we share our thoughts with each other. Each week a different teaching from the book is chosen and discussed within the group. The weekly meeting may consist of using the Mind Mapping, Talking Circle or other cultural ceremonies to help each participant in the group.
